- Look for the Waxing gibbous Sturgeon Moon to visit the Teapot asterism in the constellation Sagittarius low in the southern sky on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of August around 11:00 PM.
August 6:

- Check out the early morning Planet Parade! With the help of binoculars or a small a telescope, Neptune and Uranus are visible along with naked-eye planets Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn across the ecliptic line (the path the sun takes through the sky) in the early morning sky through the first several weeks of August.
August 9:

- Full Sturgeon Moon: 1:54 AM
August 10:

- Look for the Great Square rising. This asterism gracing our skies tells us that autumn is on its way. Look for it in the eastern sky in Pegasus around 11:00 PM.

- alpha Capricornids (CAP): 1:00 AM in northwestern Capricornus: 5 per hour
- Southern delta Aquariids (SDA): 4:00 AM in western Aquarius: 3 per hour
- Perseids: last hour before dawn in western Perseus: 3 per hour.
- Anthelion (ANT): 2:00 AM in central Capricornus: 3 per hour.
