Share the Night Sky with the Public!
Become part of a historic Denver institution and learn to operate a 25-foot-long refractor telescope!
In partnership with the University of Denver, the Denver Astronomical Society (DAS) operates the historic Chamberlin Observatory about three nights a week. We rely on six dedicated volunteer teams—but we’re looking for a few more passionate individuals to join us, especially on Thursday and Saturday nights for our Astronomy Nights, Open Houses, and occasional special events.
What We’re Looking For:

Must-have:

Reliability. Volunteers are expected to commit to their assigned team’s regular schedule, typically two nights per month.

Able to provide your own transportation

Some mechanical aptitude

Basic astronomical knowledge

Comfortable speaking with the public
