He works to unravel the mysteries of the Sun at the forefront of solar physics research, using cutting-edge ground- and space-based telescopes. In addition to his scientific work, he strives to share the wonders of the Sun and space with the public through social media (85k+ followers), museums and observatories, and on television and radio. His second book, Space Hazards, was published worldwide in 2025. He is also an expert on astronomical\nevents, including eclipses and solar storms. Surrounded by objects and forces that pose a serious risk, Earth is under constant threat. In this talk, based on Ryan’s brand-new book ‘Space Hazards’, we’ll explore the most fascinating of these threats\n– ranging from the immediate to cosmically unlikely. From the science behind space weather and meteorites, to the growing cloud of space debris orbiting our planet, we’ll discuss what we know, what we’re watching, and how experts around the world are working to keep us safe.\n\n\nLOCATION:In-person at the Secular Hub (254 N.
